This is not a drill! The popular 5v5 shooter “Valorant” is finally available for PlayStation and Xbox four years after its PC release. The makers are celebrating today’s console launch with a brand new video!
What has been a rumor circulating on the internet for years has been official for some time now: the popular hero shooter “Valorant” is finding its way onto PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. To celebrate today’s console launch, developer studio Riot Games has released a new trailer for the game entitled “Incursions.” It shows various fan favorites in action, such as Jett, Omen, Raze, and Viper.

No crossplay with PC & rank reset at launch
However, there are two small catches. At least if you are a fan of the crossplay feature or if you want to transfer your rank from the closed beta of “Valorant” to the full version. But first things first. Riot Games has confirmed that there will be no crossplay between the new console versions and the PC version of the hero shooter. The makers want to preserve “competitive integrity”.
In addition, Riot Games has announced a rank reset on X. As Steven Eldredge, the Director of Game Production, said in a short video According to the developer, the players’ skills far exceeded the developers’ expectations. This led to discrepancies in ranking. For this reason, the developers are asking the new console community to take part in placement matches to identify their new ranking.

“Valorant” is now available in Europe, the United States, Canada, Japan and Brazil for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. Riot Games aims to make the multiplayer shooter available to console players in additional regions in the future.
