In response to stability issues with the 13th/14th generation Core CPUs, Intel has decided to extend the warranty on these processors. Owners of Raptor Lake-S (Refresh) chips can now count on an additional two years, meaning the total period has increased to five years. It is important to note that the extended warranty will apply to “boxed” versions of the processors.
Owners of boxed Intel Raptor Lake-S (Refresh) processors who are experiencing unstable operation are urged to contact support for further assistance. In the case of ready-made systems on 13th/14th generation Core chips, Intel says, you should contact the manufacturer. It is likely that it is preparing similar measures to extend the warranty period for its OEM partners.
Let us recall that Intel associates the unstable operation of the 13th/14th generation Core chips with increased processor voltage. The company is currently preparing a microcode update that will eliminate this problem and expects to release it in mid-August. This patch is more of a preventive measure designed to protect fully functional processors. If the CPU is already unstable, only a replacement will help.
