Director General of Public Information and Communication, Usman Kansong, when interviewed by KataData, explained that the DuckDuckGo search engine was forced to be blocked due to the many complaints from the public regarding the large amount of online gambling and pornography content in search results.

It is said that this search engine that prioritizes user privacy has been monitored as being blocked by the Kominfo Positive Trust system. The reason is, this competitor of Google offers a more private search service because the platform does not track, or even save search history.
So, when you search for information through DuckDuckGo, you will be identified as anonymous without being crammed with ads, and only displaying the various information you are looking for. As a result, all sites that should be censored and blocked by the government can still be accessed through the help of the search engine.
