It may come as a surprise, but Konami just posted another record-breaking quarter in terms of sales and revenue: the first quarter of fiscal year 2025, which runs from April 1 to June 30, saw a significant increase in sales for the publisher, up 25% compared to the same period the previous year.
Within this general growth, a 33.4% increase in digital sales was estimated, with a particular acceleration given by eFootball 2024, which demonstrates the excellent performance of Konami’s football simulation, even if it is not often spoken of as a success on the market.
The initiatives organized on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Yu-Gi-Oh! also contributed to the decidedly positive trend of Konami’s finances, according to what has been reported.
Excellent prospects in the near future
On the other hand, the near future also seems particularly rosy for the historic Japanese publisher, with numerous big upcoming games already known, net of further surprises.
Among these, there is Silent Hill 2, coming on October 8th and destined to attract the attention of many, but not only.
CYGNI, a new shooter published by Konami, is due for release on August 6th and represents an interesting digression from the standard productions, being a classic scrolling shooter.
Subsequent releases also include the following titles:
Suikoden I&II HD Remaster
Metal Gear Solid Delta
Silent Hill f
Silent Hill: Townfall
Among which Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater stands out in particular, destined to probably reach very interesting numbers.
Another Silent Hill could also be added to these: although the series is undergoing a general relaunch that has already led to the release of the short adventure The Short Message and will continue with Silent Hill 2 Remake, Silent Hill and Silent Hill: Townfall, there could be another project developed internally.
This is what the well-known leaker Dusk Golem, usually very knowledgeable about horror games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, reports: there is a new project related to the Konami series that is apparently in the works at an internal team.
