Nexon has announced that it has decided to abandon the global version of arcade racing game KartRider: Drift on PC, consoles and mobile devices. The development team will focus on the PC version for South Korea and Taiwan to prepare for the game’s resurgence in popularity.
KartRider: Drift was released in January 2023, and support for the original Kart Rider was discontinued, causing discontent among fans. As a result, the new game failed to gain popularity among players, and the developer Nitro Studio underwent a restructuring. Speculation about a possible reduction in support for the game has been circulating since early 2024, and the weak performance of the RISE update only confirmed the audience’s disinterest in the game.
The team is currently discussing the game’s development roadmap and will present it soon to keep players informed about future changes.
