Fallout fans, whose numbers have increased significantly since the series’ success in April this year, are waiting for a new game in the series. But according to Todd Howard’s plans, Bethesda’s Fallout 5 will be released by 2030 at best, and that’s an optimistic scenario from analysts. The development of Fallout 76 is not enough for many players; they want a full-fledged new single-player part of the series.
As you know, one of the most highly rated games in the Fallout series is Fallout: New Vegas by Obsidian, and the studio itself has repeatedly said that it would like to release a new project in the franchise if it receives permission from Bethesda. Now both companies are owned by Microsoft, and the corporation may be interested in releasing a new part of the franchise as soon as possible.
Players assume and hopethat Obsidian has taken up the development of a new Fallout. Such assumptions appeared against the background of the discovery in the profile of art director Daniel Cabuco of information that he is working at Obsidian on an unannounced project. The specialist does not provide any details about the game itself, but many players are sure that Microsoft has “green-lighted” the new Fallout project. It is assumed that the game is now in the early stages of developing the idea, concept, plot and art.
It’s worth mentioning that Obsidian recently ended support for Grounded, and they freed up a small team of developers who worked on that project. Also, some specialists should be freed up after the full release of Avowed, which is scheduled for 2024, but there are rumors that it will be postponed to 2025.
In total, the Obsidian studio has over 280 people. In addition to Avowed, the company is also developing The Outer Worlds 2.
