Analytical company Circana published US gaming market report for June 2024. Market size is estimated at $4.569 billion, down 5% from June 2023.
Console sales suffered the most, with revenue down 37% year-on-year to $287 million. Revenue from games and gaming content sales fell 2%, and accessory sales fell 7%.
The best-selling console in the US in June was the PlayStation 5, leading in both revenue and units sold. The Xbox Series came in second in revenue, and the Nintendo Switch in consoles sold.
Analysts call Elden Ring the best-selling game in June: thanks to the release of the add-on, it rose from 8th place. But Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece grew even more: from 399th place, the game jumped to 3rd.
Helldivers 2 still leads in sales for the whole of 2024, with Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and Dragon’s Dogma 2 also in the top.
