In January of this year, the game Prison Architect 2 was announced, and its release was immediately announced for March 26. A month later, the developers announced that they would not be able to release the game on time and were postponing its release to May 7. And in April of the same year, they announced that the game was being postponed to September.
In May, Paradox Interactive announced that Double Eleven was stepping away from the project. At the time, the publisher noted that the game was essentially ready and had already been certified, and that the Kokku team would be responsible for its further development.
Now the publishing house Paradox has published statementthat Prison Architect 2 has been delayed indefinitely. The key points they shared with players were:
The game’s release has been postponed indefinitely. Over the next few months, the publisher and studio will be refining the game, having first created a clear plan for this. They note that they will not be able to share new information about the development process with players until they have the necessary work schedule in place. Pre-orders are being refunded on all platforms. The items promised as part of the pre-orders will be added to the base version of the game. According to Paradox, the decision to refine the game before release was made as part of a general strategy to improve the quality of the publisher’s projects. The publisher recently canceled the development of Life by You, which did not meet expectations in terms of quality. By reconsidering its approach to the project, Paradox wants to “make the game even better by increasing performance and adding new content.”
Let us remind you that the full gameplay of Prison Architect 2 has not been shown before. In the debut trailer, the developers showed that the game was transferred to 3D.
