Russian 1C Game Studios (Immortal. Tales of Old Rus’, Korea. Il-2 Series) presented The first development diary of the action adventure game “War of the Worlds: Siberia”. The video is dedicated to the game’s script.
The protagonist, the Student, is at the center of the story. He is a native of the village who, after being expelled from the institute, is forced to join the local revolutionaries. After that, his life became “so interesting” that it turned out to be worthy of a game.
The student will be surrounded by supporting characters – the highest aristocracy, including the emperor’s daughter (the princess), the main character’s mentor (nicknamed the Engineer), the priest, the “grandmother with a sewing machine,” and so on.
According to screenwriter Sergey Burkatovsky, the idea for War of the Worlds: Siberia was born at a “game developers congress” back in 2005. 1C Game Studios wrote the story itself, without involving outside specialists.
The development diary showed a reading of the script by the voice actors of “War of the Worlds: Siberia” — the voices and movements of the characters, we recall, will be provided by the actors of the Moscow Drama Theater named after Maria Nikolaevna Ermolova.
The project’s artistic director Albert Zhiltsov confirmed that the gameplay of “War of the Worlds: Siberia” is planned to be shown in the fall, and the game’s release is expected in two to three years.
“War of the Worlds: Siberia” tells about the Martian invasion of Russia in the late 19th century. The game is positioned as an adventure with several heroes fleeing from panic-stricken Petrograd further to the east of the Empire.
