This significant growth was achieved thanks to the app’s integration with Instagram.✴which helped it attract a large number of users early on. Threads already surpassed 100 million monthly active users last October. “My hope is that Threads can inspire ideas that bring people together and that this amazing community continues to grow,” Mosseri wrote.
Despite its impressive results, Threads still lags behind social network X (Twitter), which Elon Musk said had 600 million monthly active users in May. However, according to media reports and independent research, X’s growth has slowed and is at around 251 million daily active users.
CEO of Meta✴ Mark Zuckerberg is confident in Threads’ potential and has set a goal of reaching a billion users. “We’re making solid progress toward building what looks like the next big global social app. We’re seeing deep engagement, and I’m really excited about the trajectory,” Zuckerberg said.
While he acknowledges that achieving this goal may take years, he still has great enthusiasm and belief in the project.
