Another monthly report on the revenue of mobile projects in Google Play and the App Store from the analytical service Sensor Tower has appeared online. In July 2024, the highest-grossing game was Zenless Zone Zero, released last month by HoYoverse from China.
According to the collected data, ZZZ was able to earn its creators $96 million in the first month of its existence. Despite such significant figures, they still turned out to be somewhat lower than the starting values of miHoYo’s previous projects: for example, Genshin Impact was able to earn $90 million in 11 days from the moment of release, and Honkai: Star Rail – as much as $108 million.
It should be noted, however, that with the release of Zenless Zone Zero, the income of other HoYoverse creations has noticeably dropped. If in June, Genshin earned 67.5 million dollars, then in July – only 36.3 million, and Honkai fell to 35.5 million from 95.5 million. Most likely, this is due to the fact that many players switched to the new project, abandoning the previous games for a while.
Let’s add that the surprising second place went to the dating simulator for girls Love and Deepspace, which earned $30.8 million in June, and increased this figure to $42.2 million the following month. As for Wuthering Waves, which some called the killer of “Genshin”, its revenue dropped to $29.5 million.
