Some time ago, Twitter account DestinyNostalgi discovered a profile named bngpparsons on the auction site, Bring A Trailer. The account is known to belong to Pete Parsons, Bungie’s CEO.
Since Bungie was acquired by Sony in 2022, Parsons has bid on and purchased more than 20 classic cars on the site. In total, Parsons has spent approximately $2.4 million.

In fact, four of them were purchased after the mass layoffs in 2023 and in total cost around $386,000. In addition, there are also several photos on Flickr showing Parsons inspecting the cars in a large garage.
On X/Twitter, Parsons also posted a photo of a car that looked exactly like the one being auctioned on the Bring A Trailer site.
Former Bungie Employees Are Upset
Many former employees were upset to learn this information.
Despite the fact that the cars were purchased using Parsons’ own money, many have wondered why Bungie didn’t take a pay cut for Parsons that might have saved the lives of several other employees.
Liana Rupert, a former Bungie Community Manager, even expressed her frustrations while working there via X/Twitter. She said that on the Friday before the first layoff, when she and the other CMs were talking about how they didn’t have enough money to go shopping.
