What seemed like a warm but calm summer Saturday turned out to be an even more heated affair for Activision and Treyarch, who saw the names and previews of all the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 maps go online prematurely.
The person who leaked this information was a user known on X as @betterthanalaix, who – it is not clear how – would have had access to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 before the start of the Multiplayer Beta and the launch of the final version. The name of the leaker is completely new to us, since he has just signed up to Elon Musk’s social network, evidently with the sole purpose of spreading this information. According to him, there would be twenty maps included in the multiplayer, namely:
Vorkuta Mine
Vorkuta
Catacomb
Flat
Dig
Babylon
Train Graveyard
Russian Base
Socotra 2
Hacienda alt
Strip mall
Red Card
Firing Range 2
Veiled
Canals
Island
Pillage
Radar
Stealth
Nuketown
Some of the names listed will be familiar to long-time Black Ops fans (Nuketown above all), but most of them sound completely new. Since this is information shared without the consent of the owners, whose veracity – among other things – is still to be proven, we prefer not to delve further into the leak.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Beta is just a few weeks away, scheduled to begin on August 30, 2024 in two different phases, one limited and one open. The first phase will take place from August 30 to September 4 and will be reserved for players who have pre-ordered and Xbox Game Pass subscribers; the second phase will take place from September 6 to 9 for all interested players, with no access restrictions. The final version of the game is scheduled to launch on October 25, 2024 on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with immediate availability in Game Pass.
