As part of yesterday’s showcase, publisher THQ Nordic made various new announcements and presented us with selected titles. For example, we were able to see gameplay for the remake of “Gothic”.
The publisher also announced a new “Darksiders” title. Fans of classic jump & run games also got their money’s worth. THQ Nordic presented us with a fresh gameplay trailer for “Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed,” which gives us plenty of impressions of the remake of the platformer originally released in 2010.
The gameplay footage includes both basic gameplay and boss battles, but just watch for yourself.
A classic celebrates its comeback
With “Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed” the platformer is making a comeback in a revised version. As THQ Nordic emphasized in the official announcement, it wasn’t just the graphics that were completely overhauled in the new edition. The developers at Purple Lamp also made changes to the gameplay.
One of the gameplay improvements is revised controls. This should give you more control, especially in the tricky platform sections, than in the original from 2010. The developers also gave Mickey new movement abilities such as a sprint function.
A feature that is intended to make “Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed” more dynamic than Mickey’s original adventure.
The features of the remake at a glance
Reimagined Wasteland filled with Disney characters and stories. Magical paintbrush that can change history. Players meet Oswald, the Lucky Rabbit and Disney’s original star. Expanded gameplay with new abilities and improved graphics. New moves like Dash, Ground Pound and Sprint. Multiple endings based on player choices.
“Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed” will be released on September 24, 2024 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Switch.
