A hand-drawn side-scroller called “The Eternal Life of Goldman” is currently in the works. Players accompany an elderly gentleman with a special cane.
Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Weappy have announced the hand-drawn side-scrolling platformer “The Eternal Life of Goldman”. Supported platforms include PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch consoles, as well as PC.
The company has not announced the release date of “The Eternal Life of Goldman”. However, a picturesque trailer shows what players can experience at an as yet undetermined time. It is embedded further down in the article.
Decipher numerous secrets and swing your stick
In “The Eternal Life of Goldman” players take on the role of the eponymous protagonist. He is an older gentleman with a seemingly magical cane that offers many different possibilities. It can be used as an aid when traversing or in combat and has different attachments. They can be swapped out depending on the situation.
About the plot: In “The Eternal Life of Goldman,” players enter an archipelago and receive an unusual mission: to eliminate the deity. This mystical entity is mentioned by everyone, although no one has ever seen it.
To track down the deity, players must unravel the many secrets hidden on these islands, discovering a place marked by tragedy but also populated by eccentric personalities and striking contrasts.
According to Weappy, “The Eternal Life of Goldman” was created over years of work by a team that “carefully hand-drawn, colored and animated using classic frame-by-frame techniques.”
“We made no compromises and the results show that the effort was worth it,” the team writes.
