The National Press and Publication Administration of China has released a new list of games that have received its approval for domestic release. Among the projects named is Final Fantasy XIV: Crystal World (最终幻想14: 水晶世界), which will be developed domestically by Beijing Borun Zhijia Technology, a subsidiary of Tencent.
It was previously reported that Final Fantasy XIV: Crystal World was being developed by Square Enix and Lightspeed Studios, and in early July we were told that this project could be a mobile version of the well-known MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV. There has been no official announcement of the game so far, and therefore we do not know whether this project is precisely a mobile version of the popular MMORPG or something else.
