“Prison Architect 2” is taking longer to arrive. The release has been postponed. Paradox gives the reasons.
Players will have to wait significantly longer before they can once again work as prison architects and administrators. “Prison Architect 2” has been postponed again after the previous release schedule could not be met.
After the postponement in mid-April, the launch of the title was scheduled for September 3, 2024. But on the home stretch, publisher Paradox took another detour and decided to take a detour.
Why is the postponement taking place?
While games are occasionally delayed to avoid busy release periods, the developers behind “Prison Architect 2” simply need more time “to improve both the performance and content of the game.”
Internal reviews and beta test groups have shown that more work is needed in these areas. With the latest postponement, Paradox is being more cautious and refraining from naming a new date.
“At this time, we are unable to provide a new release date as we need to re-evaluate the amount of work that needs to be done before the game is released,” the statement said.
Developers go into stealth mode
In the coming months, the focus will be on improving the game and creating a more robust release schedule. Fans won’t hear much about “Prison Architect 2” in the meantime, as Paradox wants to limit communication until they have a schedule they are comfortable with.
Ultimately, the publisher is convinced that the delay of “Prison Architect 2” is the best way forward for the game and that the additional time will ensure a high-quality experience.
The new “Prison Architect” comes with a new look.
At the beginning of the year, Paradox parted ways with developer Double Eleven after nearly ten years of work on the management series. The reason given was that they “could not reach a commercial agreement that would have worked for both sides.”
The announcement of “Prison Architect 2” will take place in mid-January 2024 for consoles and PC. The new features this time include 3D graphics, which not only caused enthusiasm.
