Once again, details about the seventh part of the unsinkable franchise “Scream”, and once again – from its main star. Having sorted out the financial issues that once forced her to leave the filming of the sixth series, Neve Campbell has once again jumped on board her native franchise and is now happily sharing comments about the future film.
This time, the actress answered the question: will her Sydney be the main character? 2022’s Scream pushed her into the background, opening the way for a new generation in the form of Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, but after their controversial exit, the lead role in the sequel remained vacant. Campbell confirmed that Sydney will once again be the central character:
The movie will tell the story of Sydney. They (Spyglass) sold me on this concept, and that’s the reason why I came back on board. I love these movies (the Scream franchise), I’m so happy to be a part of them! And I’m so grateful to them, I never thought I’d be a part of something that would last for many years.
Let us recall that the director of “Scream 7” will be Kevin Williamson, the screenwriter of the first part, and negotiations are already underway with Courteney Cox about returning to the role of Gale Weathers. Filming is scheduled to begin in December.
