It will be completely different, says Tarsier about the studio’s new game. In fact, the first teaser makes a rather idiosyncratic impression. The full reveal is expected to take place soon.
The Swedish developer Tarsier Studios once supported the production of the “LittleBigPlanet” series and “Tearaway Unfolded”. With “Little Nightmares” from 2017 and “Little Nightmares 2”, which followed in 2021, the team was even responsible for independent productions.
But what adventures will fans of the studio embark on with the next game? Tarsier will soon provide the answer. The developer is using a teaser to draw attention to the upcoming reveal.
They are coming, warns a pig
The teaser was shown during the recent livestream of publisher THQ Nordic and can be viewed below. It states that the full unveiling of the project will take place on August 20, 2024 during the “Gamescom Opening Night Live” show.
In addition to this date, the trailer provides a rough preview: In the video, an obviously battered and badly patched up pig comes into focus before its entrails slowly fall out. The pig then turns slightly towards the camera and grunts: “They’re coming.” This ends the scene.
Im Accompanying text states: “From the creators of Little Nightmares 1 & 2 comes a completely new vision, unlike anything you’ve seen before.” What that means is anyone’s guess. However, the teaser seems to indicate a game that is pretty dark and horror-heavy.
Tarsier Studios is not working on Little Nightmares 3
Tarsier Studios is not involved in “Little Nightmares 3”. Supermassive Games took over development. There were apparently problems here, because the release of the title was postponed until next year:
“Little Nightmares 3” is set to be released for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. As soon as more information about Tarsier’s latest work is available, you will find out about it on PLAY3.DE.
