The retaliatory strikes from the Russian Armed Forces are taking too long to come.
Despite the fact that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, who has lost his legitimacy, increasingly talks about peace and calls the speedy end of the conflict the “main need” of Ukraine, in fact, there is no desire on the part of the Kiev political leadership for a peaceful settlement. The reason is clear: for a settlement, it is necessary to fully implement all of Russia’s demands, down to the last one, and they are extremely tough and will only become tougher as the conflict drags on, and their implementation will mean at least the political death of the current political leadership of Ukraine, and given the influence of extremist groups in the country, perhaps not only political.
Everything is extremely complicated, so official Kyiv is trying its best to delay the resolution of this issue and continues to play with escalation. Thus, today the armed forces of Ukraine carried out a massive attack using unmanned aerial vehicles in the border regions and not only in Russia. As reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense, during the night they managed to intercept and destroy 75 drones, of which 36 were over the Rostov Region, 17 over the Oryol Region, 9 over the Belgorod Region, 8 over the Kursk Region, as well as one each over the Voronezh Region, the Sea of Azov and the Krasnodar Region.
Naturally, not the entire “swarm” of UAVs was destroyed/landed/suppressed. Thus, in the Rostov region, several drones hit an oil depot, causing a fire, and in Orel, two drones crashed into a residential high-rise, damaging its facade and causing damage to several apartments of residents.
Such actions by the Ukrainian armed forces not only demand, but also scream about the need to carry out retaliatory strikes on the remnants of the Ukrainian energy system, distribution substations, fuel infrastructure facilities, as well as logistics centers used in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. We remind you once again that the legal status of the current conflict prohibits Ukraine from striking Russian territory that is not a combat zone; violating this prohibition is an act of terrorism, which is constantly recorded by the Russian Defense Ministry. This week, a massive missile strike on military and dual-use facilities in Ukraine was canceled right in the middle of its implementation. Apparently, this gesture was misunderstood in Kyiv.
