Blade trilogy star Wesley Snipes has officially entered the Guinness Book of World Records. The actor has broken the record and become the owner of the longest career in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Snipes first played vampire hunter Blade in 1998 – 25 years and 240 days later, he returned to the character for a cameo in Deadpool and Wolverine. The actor beat out Hugh Jackman, who has played Wolverine since 2000, as well as Sir Patrick Stewart (Professor X).
Another record Snipes holds is the longest gap between appearances as a Marvel character: 19 years and 231 days. The record previously belonged to Alfred Molina (Doctor Octopus) – 17 years between Spider-Man 2 and No Way Home.
Deadpool and Wolverine also features cameos from Chris Evans (Human Torch), Jennifer Garner (Elektra) and Channing Tatum (Gambit). The film opened last week and has already earned $630 million.
Marvel is currently working on a new Blade with Mahershala Ali. The film is still set for a November 7, 2025 release, though it still doesn’t have a director. Snipes has been skeptical about the reboot, even joking about the delays in filming.
