The Microsoft team announced that it is moving the release date of the long-awaited role-playing game Avowed from 2024 to 2025. They immediately named the exact release date of the project – February 18, 2025, on this day the game will be available on Xbox Series X | S and PC, plus in the Game Pass subscription.
The game was postponed due to an overabundance of games in the fall of 2024. Xbox teams are preparing many new products, both game releases and DLC, plus partners are planning to release their AAA projects in the fall, many of which are long-awaited: like Dragon Age: The Veilguard, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 or Assassin’s Creed Shadows. To give players time for all the projects they want to play, the release of Avowed was postponed.
Planned releases for 2024
At the same time, the Xbox team published an updated schedule of game releases from internal studios. This year they plan to release:
Age of Mythology remake – September 4, 2024. New strategy ARA History Untold – September 24, 2024. The expected shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 – October 25, 2024. New flight simulator Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 – November 19, 2024. Adventure Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – 2024. Cooperative action Towerborne – 2024.
And these are just new games from Xbox’s internal studios and partners who release their projects through Xbox Game Studios.
Additionally, Xbox teams are planning to release major DLCs for World of Warcraft, Diablo IV, and Starfield this year. All of the above should be released within the next 5 months, which is why the decision was made to push Avowed to 2025.
