Microsoft shared details about its presence at Gamescom a few days ago. They said they would bring more than 50 games to the Xbox stands, most of which would be available for testing. There had already been some misunderstandings with the No More Robots publisher and the Descenders sequel, which we covered here. Now they have fixed another bug that concerns ARK 2.
ARK 2 was originally on the list of projects that the Xbox team planned to bring to Gamescom. The game is being developed by Team Wildcard, which is a partner of Microsoft Gaming. In the announcement of Xbox’s participation at Gamescom, players were promised the opportunity to get acquainted with ARK 2.
However, some time later, when the media took notice of Microsoft’s post, the mention of ARK 2 appearing at Gamescom as part of the Xbox booths disappeared. Now in news note regarding participation in the German exhibition it is stated: “ARK 2 was initially listed as a playable version at the Xbox stand – this mention was made by mistake and has since been removed.”
As such, it won’t be possible to play ARK 2 at the Xbox booth at Gamescom.
Recall that the announcement of the game ARK 2 took place back in 2020 for Xbox Series X | S and PC. Since then, almost no information has appeared about the project. There is still no full gameplay of the game, which many expected to see this year at the June Xbox presentation.
At the same time, the release of ARK 2 is still scheduled for autumn 2024. Immediately after the release, the project should become part of Game Pass.
