Modder Clear_strelok has released the 20th Anniversary Edition of his Redux mod for Doom 3. This latest version of Doom 3 Redux improves over 2,300 textures.
Doom 3 Redux significantly improves the game’s visuals with over 2,300 improved textures. It includes over 700 textures from the Monoxead and Wulfen texture packs, as well as new ones. Over 1,200 textures have been remade for Redux, typically at 4x and up to 16x their original size. Many texture sets have been created from scratch with high-resolution normal maps, while other textures have been redrawn (diffuse + specular) using the original normal maps.
The modder improved hundreds of HUD and GUI elements, recreating them in high resolution to fit 16:9 and 16:10 screen sizes without stretching. He also fixed various UI issues, typos, and language errors.
And that’s not all. The mod supports common widescreen resolutions and provides better display and control options. You can also adjust texture resolution, field of view, anisotropic filtering, camera shake, and more. In other words, it’s more than just a regular HD texture pack.
Doom 3 Redux also features a ton of visual improvements. Players will see more and better dynamic lighting, fixed map bugs, and fixed textures. There are improved materials and better static shadows where needed. The audio is also better, with fixes for broken or missing audio, clearer sound effects, improved audio logs, and some additional new sound effects.
However, please note that the mod is only compatible with the original 2004 version. It is not compatible with the BFG Edition.
