In July, three more titles found their way into the Essential tier of PlayStation Plus. Since the “free” games will be removed shortly, you should secure “Borderlands 3” and co. as soon as possible.
This week, Sony introduced us to the new PlayStation Plus Essential titles for the month of August 2024. We’ll tell you which new titles are on offer here.
As usual, the Essential titles will be released on the Tuesday after the official announcement. In the current case, this would be August 6, 2024. Sony usually releases the new titles around 11 a.m. our time. At the same time as the new Essential titles are released, Sony will remove the games from July 2024 on Tuesday.
If you haven’t secured them yet, you should do so as soon as possible before the July titles have to make way for PlayStation Plus Essential. Once you have secured the games, you can use them for as long as your PlayStation Plus subscription is active.

After the release of the Essential additions for August 2024, the next step is the official unveiling of the new titles for the Extra and Premium tiers. This month, the announcement of the Extra and Premium titles will take place on August 14, 2024 at around 5:30 p.m. our time.
As usual, activation will take place on the following Tuesday. In this case on August 20, 2024 at around 11 a.m. If you don’t have a PS Plus subscription yet, we recommend you take a look at our detailed overview.
