International multi-platform games publisher Nordcurrent Labs and developer River End Games have announced that the narrative-focused single-player stealth adventure game Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream will debut at Gamescom 2024 in Cologne, Germany, following its announcement at the Future Game Show Summer Showcase in June 2024.
Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream is a single-player character-driven game set in the eponymous Eriksholm, a fictional city in a world heavily influenced by the Scandinavian aesthetic of the early 1900s. It tells the story of three protagonists united by the fire in their hearts to challenge their oppressors.
From a top-down perspective in 3D, players will take on the role of three playable characters in Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream and navigate the meticulously detailed streets and dark underground of the city of Eriksholm, using each character’s unique skills, tools, and weapons to overcome obstacles and solve puzzles. Players can freely move the game’s camera to survey the environment, plan their next move, and execute it with perfect timing. Even overheard dialogue, such as the context-sensitive chatter of guards, can prove significant in finding the best strategic move to advance undetected, as problems may have multiple solutions.
Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream will be released in 2025 on Windows PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
