Over the last few hours, something truly unexpected has happened for Nintendo fans, as a photo of a truly rare device has surfaced on social media.
We are referring to the Nintendo Dolphin, a particularly rare version of the GameCube. As well-informed users will know, Dolphin was the code name of the old Nintendo console and the one we are talking about is therefore one of the prototypes of the game machine that the Kyoto company created before arriving at the final version, which hit the shelves of all stores in 2001.
The X/Twitter profile called consolevariations, a sort of online archive that deals with cataloging all the versions of the various consoles, including those that never arrived in stores, showed a photo of this prototype. In this case, it is a particularly rare device, which has been talked about a lot over the years without ever having concrete proof except for some poorly defined photos.
As revealed by the social profile in question, it is a very rare console, to the point that until some time ago it was not possible to publish a photo of it online. However, it seems that something has changed and, after having shown the first shot, consolevariations promises the arrival of further images, which perhaps will also allow us to see the console from other angles.
Needless to say, the account confirms that it cannot disclose in any way the details of where these images come from, which will likely continue to remain secret.
