During AnimagiC 2024, AniMoon Publishing, KSM Anime, peppermint anime and polyband anime announced 26 (!) new disk releases. Among them are some top-class highlights, such as seasons 2 and 3 of “Demon Slayer”.
The big German anime publishers have once again brought all kinds of news to Mannheim for AnimagiC 2024. After we have already given you an overview of the upcoming disk releases from Crunchyroll, we would now like to introduce you to the upcoming highlights from AniMoon Publishing, KSM Anime, peppermint anime and polyband anime. And let’s just say this: You have a lot to look forward to!
First, we’ll introduce you to a selected highlight from each publisher in a little more detail. Then we’ll take a closer look at the other releases that you can look forward to in the coming months.
Disk-Highlight Nr. 1: Berserk (KSM Anime)
Release: Coming soon
The experienced warrior Guts travels around and is not afraid of any challenge. After an extremely exhausting battle, however, he is plagued by voices. Guts increasingly remembers his past, when he was still a young mercenary. Back then, he joined a group of mercenaries commanded by a certain Griffith. But Guts had no idea how much his life would change afterwards.
With “Berserk (1997)”, KSM Anime has secured a true anime classic.
With “Berserk (1997)”, KSM Anime has secured a real classic that was created in the OLM (“Pokémon Horizons”) studio. An exact release date for the dark fantasy adventure has not yet been announced, but the publisher wants to bring the cult title to Germany on Blu-ray and DVD “soon”. Anime fans will be able to choose between the original Japanese version and the German dubbing.
Disk-Highlight Nr. 2: Demon Slayer Staffel 2+3 (peppermint anime)
Release: From December 6, 2024
After their successful training at the butterfly estate and the events on board the “Mugen Train”, Tanjiro and his friends receive a new assignment. Their next mission will take them to the entertainment district, where powerful devils are said to be causing mischief. Together with the sound pillar Tengen Uzui, Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke must face their greatest challenge yet. Will they survive unscathed?
peppermint anime will soon release seasons 2+3 of “Demon Slayer” on disk.
The long wait is finally over: peppermint anime has secured the disk license for seasons 2 and 3 of “Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba-“. The next piece of good news for anime fans is that the sequel to the popular anime hit will be released this year! The “Mugen Train Arc” will be released as a complete edition on December 6th. The “Entertainment District Arc” will follow in March 2025, before the “Sword Smith Village Arc” will be released in June 2025.
Disk-Highlight Nr. 3: Elainas Reise – The Wandering Witch (AniMoon Publishing)
Release: early 2025
In a certain place there was once a traveling witch named Elaina. She traveled through many countries and met all kinds of different people on her numerous journeys. Once she traveled through a country that only accepts magicians, and in another place she met a love-struck youth who desperately wants to free his beloved from the cold grip of death. But we also learn a lot about Elaina herself.
Many German anime fans have been waiting a long time for a disk release of “The Wandering Witch”.
“Elaina’s Journey – The Wandering Witch” was released almost four years ago and quickly enchanted the hearts of many anime fans. AniMoon Publishing plans to release the charming fantasy adventure in stores in Germany from the beginning of 2025. The 12-episode series will be released in three volumes on both Blu-ray and DVD with German and Japanese language versions. Volume 1 will come in a collector’s slipcase.
Disk-Highlight Nr. 4: Shin Chan Staffel 1 (polyband anime)
Release: October 2024
The little rascal Shin-chan regularly drives his parents and other people around him crazy with his escapades. But even if he gets on someone’s nerves, no one can stay mad at him for long. Although he doesn’t mince his words, it is always clear that Shin-chan actually has a good heart.
“Shin Chan” is simply cult and will soon be available from polyband anime.
The anime hit “Shin Chan” has been running in Japan since 1992, and in this country the sometimes crude comedy was shown for a long time in the anime block of RTL II. Now polyband anime has snapped up the disk license for the cult series and wants to release the first season of the anime series in four volumes. The disks are to be released from October 2024 at two-month intervals.
