With “Blood of the Queen,” “Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth” introduced a new card game in the world of the popular role-playing classic. As the developers at Square Enix confirmed, the mini-game will return in the third act of the remake.
As we have known for a few months, the team around Creative Director Tetsuya Nomura is currently working feverishly on the third act of the “Final Fantasy 7 Remake”.
Back in April, those responsible confirmed that work on the story of the third and final part had been successfully completed. As part of an anime and gaming event, game director Naoki Hamaguchi said a few words about the third part of the “Final Fantasy 7” remake and confirmed the return of a popular feature from “Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth”.
We’re talking about the strategic card game “Queen’s Blood.” However, the team won’t just take over the mini-game 1:1.
Blood of the Queen is being reworked
Instead, Hamaguchi pointed out that the developers want to rework “Blood of the Queen” for the third act of the “Final Fantasy 7” remake. The game director did not go into more detail in this regard and simply said that “Blood of the Queen” will return in an even better version.
“We are currently preparing a revised, even better version of Blood of the Queen for the next title,” said the game director. It is still unclear when the official unveiling of the third part of the “Final Fantasy 7” remake will take place.
“Blood of the Queen” is a card game that is played throughout the world of “Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth”. During the course of the adventure, you collect a variety of different cards with individual effects and rarity levels. However, “Blood of the Queen” is not just about collecting cards.
At the same time, the developers gave the mini-game its own storyline.
When will the third part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake be released
Square Enix has not yet revealed when the third act of the “Final Fantasy 7” remake will be released. In April, however, producer Yoshinori Kitase pointed out that he expects the third part to take a similar amount of time to develop as “Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth.”
This would indicate a planned release in 2027.
In an interview conducted in June, co-director Motomu Toriyama gave further details about the final part of the “Final Fantasy 7 Remake” and promised that the authors would like to answer all questions that remained unanswered after “Rebirth”.
Toriyama also hinted that the writers will rework the ending of “Final Fantasy 7” as part of the remake. However, the co-director did not go into further detail.
