Confirmed by the HBO network a year and a half ago, the second season of the series The Last of Us based on the adventure franchise of the same name by the Naughty Dog studio has received its first teaser trailer.
The first look at the second season of The Last of Us has been included in two minute trailer upcoming HBO television shows scheduled for the rest of 2024 and 2025.
The teaser for the show is 23 seconds long and features footage of Abby, played by Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced as Dina, and Jeffrey Wright, who plays his familiar role as Isaac.
“I saved her,” insists smuggler Joel, played by Pedro Pascal, in the teaser when asked what he did to Ellie, still played by Bella Ramsey in season two.
The events of the second season of The Last of Us will take place five years after the finale of the first. The sequel will be based on the story of The Last of Us Part II, but the show will not be a complete retelling of the game.
Screenwriter Craig Mazin wrote in a story published a month ago Deadline interview claimed that the plot of The Last of Us Part II could be stretched out over several seasons of the series, since there is much more material in the sequel than in the first part.
The second season of HBO’s The Last of Us is scheduled to premiere in 2025. In the same conversation with Deadline, Mazin confirmed that the upcoming show will include seven episodes (two fewer than the first season).
