It has recently become known that the Manor Lords strategy is planned to be transferred from the Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5 – this will happen in the next update of the game. The game’s developer Greg Stikzen said that he decided not to use the Lumen global illumination system – one of the features of the new version of the engine. According to the developer, its impact on the picture is not justified by how much performance it ultimately eats up from the user.
To illustrate this, the developer showed several screenshots from the game with Lumen technology enabled and disabled:

Without Lumen
Judging by the images, the graphics improvement really looks minimal – only the shadows of the trees and buildings have changed a little. According to Greg, the move to the fifth version of the engine will make the frame rate in Manor Lords more stable. The update with Unreal Engine 5 should be released soon. In addition, the update will add fishing, new methods of farming and a number of other things to the game.
The game was released in Steam Early Access on April 26 of this year.
