A first screenshot of That’s No Moon’s 100 million project has surfaced. It’s a bit old, but it still gives you a first impression.
This is what the That’s No Moon logo looks like.
In July 2021, several veteran developers founded a new development studio called That’s No Moon. Former employees of Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica, Infinity Ward and Bungie are employed here. Together they are working on a AAA single-player game about which nothing was previously known.
A triple-A shooter with soldiers
The description of a wanted technical rigging artist contains a hint: it is an “unannounced AAA shooter”, so you can expect gunfights. There is also talk of vehicles. The development is based on the Unreal Engine 5.
The CV of a motion capture actor also reveals that he plays a soldier in the project in question. So it seems we’re getting another military shooter.
In addition, a first image has appeared that confirms this assumption. However, what you see here is only a prototype that is already two years old. It shows a soldier shooting at various objects with his Scar. The third-person perspective is used here.
According to an older note The title is said to be based on an existing IP. Because the studio name is an allusion to Obi Wan’s words from “Star Wars Episode IV”, it was quickly assumed that it would be a game based on the sci-fi franchise. Inverse has refuted this assumption. And the picture shown above looks like something completely different.
Publisher Smilegate certainly has great confidence in the project. The South Korean company has invested a total of 100 million dollars to make this game a reality.
Those responsible for That’s No Moon have made it their mission to create narrative experiences in linear and interactive media. The aim is to create unforgettable stories and characters.
