With billions of USD they manage to collect every year, there is no real reason for Valve to stay involved in the world of game development, especially single-player games that of course take time and do not always make money equally. The only recent single-player game they have made is Half-Life Alyx which, besides being built for a tech demo, is also pushed as a spearhead to sell their VR devices. Even the latest game they have made – Deadlock is also positioned as a multiplayer game that is clearly pushed to strengthen Steam’s selling point. Apparently, that’s not all they are preparing.
No matter how tight Valve tries to keep information under wraps, the internet will “find a way” to dig it up. Coming from a voice actress who doesn’t seem to have a clue about how important and secretive the video game information she’s sharing is, Valve is believed to be working on a mysterious game that currently has a codename – “Project White Sands”. No further details about the project other than the character’s role apparently hasn’t been revealed, even to the VA herself. Given that “White Sands” itself has a real-world name associated with a nuclear bomb testing site, many speculate that “Project White Sands” will be related to Half-Life. As one might expect, the Half-Life 3 dream is still alive here.

Valve itself has yet to speak about “Project White Sands” at all at the time of writing. The VA has also removed the name of the project from his personal website once the internet found out and started spreading the news. What do you think?
