Over the last few hours, Activision announced that it has helped train the AI using some data from Call of Duty Warzone.
More specifically, the company revealed that it has distributed a sizable data set via OpenUSD that includes both the geometry of the map titled Caldera and some information related to the movements of players within it, obviously in a completely anonymous form. According to CTO Natalya Tatarchuk, it seems to be one of the largest files available on OpenUSD and also contains excellent details for the evolution of AI that deals with content generation, i.e. generative artificial intelligence. It would therefore seem that the giant of the video game industry is intent on not only supporting AI, but also actively contributing to its development.
While we wait to find out how this news will be received by the gaming world, we remind you that this data package is free and accessible to everyone via the well-known portal GitHub.
