Gematsu interviewed Grasshopper Manufacture CEO Goichi Suda, also known as Suda51, to ask the developer about remastering old games.
Suda would like to revive the old Grasshopper Manufacture game Flower, Sun, and Rain. The adventure game was originally released only for the PlayStation 2 in 2001, but hand developed a DS port in 2008. The game’s scenario is also related to Grasshopper’s more famous game, The Silver Case.
Finally, Suda51 expressed interest in reviving Michigan: Report from Hell, a 2004 survival horror adventure game that was released in Europe. However, compared to Flower, Sun, and Rain, he found the prospect more hesitant.
If the Shadows of the Damned remaster sells well enough, and if it seems like people really want it, then we’ll definitely consider continuing the series in the future.
As for what I want to remaster next, it would be Flower, Sun, and Rain. It’s an old Grasshopper game that fans have been asking for for a long time. We really want to remaster that game and put it on Steam etc. to make sure it’s preserved as part of the Grasshopper Manufacture catalog. We’d also like to do Michigan: Report from Hell at some point.
