The journalists had a large collection of statues and a whole bunch of games.
Game Informer, the longest-running American print publication about games and the gaming industry, closed in early August. Journalists no longer show up at the editorial office; they are currently packing up their things.
Former Game Informer producer Alex van Aken managed to organize a tour of the publication’s empty editorial office. Giant Bomb journalists walked around the Game Informer office: they showed many unusual items that were in the editorial office.
It turns out that Game Informer journalists have collected an extensive collection of figurines and statues: for example, they have a life-size Lara Croft, a huge Dragonborn, and a Brotherhood of Steel paladin in power armor.
In addition, the editorial office has a gigantic collection of video games on physical media and an impressive number of different consoles that can run them. The video also features arcade machines and an art gallery with game posters.
It’s not entirely clear where the many gaming artifacts from Game Informer’s editorial office will go. Perhaps GameStop, the publication’s owner, will simply put them up for auction.
