The “Season of Infernal Hordes” kicked off in the Blizzard Entertainment action RPG Diablo IV yesterday. It brought a new mode, quests, dungeons, legendary items, and… a nice bug.
Soon after the launch, players discoveredthat the legendary tempering guides they collected from the blacksmith in the fourth season were, for some unknown reason, transferred to the fifth, although they should have been reset.
The mechanic is part of the Season progression system. Tempering guides allow users to choose affixes to add to gear. The more you play, the more powerful recipes you can unlock.
Blizzard, represented by Diablo’s head of community Adam Fletcher, has already identified the issue commented and, contrary to the established trend, did not play the role of “killjoys on duty.”
“This was not the original intent of the designers. Don’t expect it to happen again in the future, but we’ll be turning a blind eye to it for Season 5,” Fletcher said on social media and the Blizzard forums.
In addition to the aforementioned bug, the season includes the Infernal Hordes roguelite mode, story quest chains, over 50 unique and legendary items, Hell Breach (a new type of dungeon), and much more.
The Season of the Infernal Hordes kicked off on August 6 in Diablo IV on PC (Steam, Battle.net), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and will end on October 8 with the release of the paid story expansion Vessel of Hatred.
