This week, presentation materials with data on a prototype of a domestic gaming console, which is based on the Elbrus-2S3 processor from MCST, were published on the Internet. The mentioned images appeared in the Telegram channel “Sad Cyberpunk”.
“These photos were sent to us by our comrades from the electronics market. The materials were shown at one of the meetings in the relevant department,” says the message that accompanied the photos of the console prototype.
The presented pictures show a device that visually resembles a mini-PC. However, some data about the console is hidden. However, it is indicated that several games have been ported for the device, including Doom 3, Quake 3, Serioгs Sam, CS:GO, GTA Vice City, Morrowind, STALKER, War Thunder, etc. The presented list indicates that the device is compatible with fairly old games.
As for the Elbrus-2S3 processor, the documents say that it consists of two high-performance cores based on the sixth-generation Elbrus architecture. It is suitable for running x86 applications for Windows and Linux. The presented device is proposed to be used not only as a gaming console, but also as a media center, a tool for video conferencing, as well as in banking terminals, interactive panels, etc.
The published documents indicate that the console is scheduled to launch in 2028. No estimated retail price for the device was given.
