The developers of Disney Speedstorm have announced, with a trailer, the upcoming start of Season 9 of the game, with a release date set for August 13, so early next week, and the main theme which concerns Pirates of the Caribbean.
Support for the kart racing game based on Disney licenses continues, an idea that has evidently met with public favor and has brought Disney Speedstorm forward to Season 9, with continuous expansions of content and a community that appears to still be quite active.
Each new Season has featured a particular Disney franchise as its main theme, adding new playable characters and tracks tied to those titles, and this time we’re dealing with Pirates of the Caribbean.
Pirates of the Caribbean Comes to Disney Speedstorm
The series was already represented at launch by the presence of Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth Swann, as well as having a themed circuit, but this update will expand the pirate content.
In particular, six new characters and another track will be added to the selectable content.
The video released today still shows very little of what’s coming and is mainly limited to announcing the launch date for Season 9, so we’ll know more next week.
The game went free-to-play a few months ago, which also caused considerable criticism from the initial users, who even thought about legal action. To learn more about the game, we refer you to our review of Disney Speedstorm.
