PlayStation Japan Asia has announced a new game from the PlayStation China Hero Project program: Brocade-Clad Guard, an action RPG set during the late Ming Dynasty and set to come to PS5 and PC in the future.
There aren’t really many details, but the first trailer for Brocade-Clad Guard gives us a glimpse of the setting and gameplay mechanics. Brocade-Clad Guard is reminiscent of other games of the genre set in ancient China at first glance, a game that may not be too original but that promises “unique gameplay, responsive controls, and a focus on counter-attacking and strategic combat.”
Brocade-Clad Guard is currently in development at Chengdu Cang Mo Games for PlayStation 5 and PC as part of the third wave of PlayStation China Hero Project games. Its release date is completely shrouded in mystery, with no release window yet.
At ChinaJoy, Sony showed off more games from the PlayStation China Hero Project, including AI Limit, Convallaria, Awaken Astral Blade, and Lost Souls Aside, the latter of which is still highly anticipated and has no release date, despite first being announced in 2017.
Sony continues to believe strongly in the talent of Chinese developers and is funding numerous Asian games destined for release on PS5 and PC.
