According to Shawn Levy, his Star Wars movie will be a standalone story and will not be connected to other films in the franchise. Levy told the Happy Sad Confused podcast that he does not intend to associate his film with other Star Wars films or series.
In the process of creating this story, I thought about the question of uniqueness. Because in the Star Wars films, you don’t get to go back to the same part of the timeline very often. So I’m also not interested in making a film that has to work for another film.
According to the director, he is writing the film’s script together with Jonathan Tropper, and therefore, for him, the most important thing is “tone and characters.”
I really wanted to create something that felt organic to me, both in tone and in characters. For me, Star Wars is not just about the Force, but how it affects each character’s personality.
Recall that the director of “Deadpool and Wolverine” confirmed that he would be working with Lucasfilm on a new part of the franchise back in 2022. Since then, the director has gradually shared details about the upcoming film, which has not even received an official title yet.
