Firesprite is busy developing a new game. There are now clues that further narrow down the possibilities.
Firesprite, the studio behind “Horizon Call of the Mountain” and other VR projects, is working on a new game. While the big announcement is still pending, more hints have arrived about what players will be able to experience sooner or later.
Last month, a job advertisement revealed that the studio was working on a “dark, story-driven narrative adventure.” A new detail narrows down the possibilities.
Apparently no new IP
A report by MP1st According to reports, Firesprite’s new game is based on an established brand. This is indicated by the Biography of the author Ren Alex-Rose She worked for the studio from 2022 until April of this year and was most recently working on an “unannounced horror adventure game.”
The author’s responsibilities included creating characters and storylines “within an already established IP.”
This is consistent with the suggestions of Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, who in February, after making a contrary claim emphasizedthat he never talked about a new brand in relation to Firesprite’s new game.
The still unnamed game was already played on the Website of Firesprite designer Emily Stell listed as a “Narrative Horror Title” for PS5 and PC, meaning Sony continues to push for wider availability of first-party games.
Insider Colin Moriarty claimed in a podcast that the game could be set on an island and have a female protagonist. This information has not been confirmed.
Which established brand could it be?
MP1st dug further into the topic and stumbled upon the Pinterest Profile by environment artist Andréas Houin, which contains hints of cosmic horror. However, these graphics do not necessarily have to be related to Firesprite’s new game.
While the “branching narrative” could point to a brand like “Until Dawn,” the publication speculates about the return of another IP: “Siren,” once created by the defunct Japan Studio, has been dormant since 2008 after three games released. Could Firesprite be working on a revival?
