Pearl Abyss shared the current status of the development of the action game Crimson Desert in its financial report for the second quarter of 2024. At the moment, the game is almost ready, and the team is busy working on optimization and filling it with content. The release date still cannot be named, as it will depend, among other things, on the feedback received at gaming exhibitions:
A half-hour demo version is being prepared for gamescom 2024. And for fans who are unable to attend the exhibition, an hour-long gameplay recording will be published, which will show the main elements of the game. In November 2024, Pearl Abyss will participate in the Korean gaming exhibition G-Star 2024, where visitors will be able to play Crimson Desert.
When asked by investors about international agreements on publishing games, a company representative responded that Pearl Abyss plans to publish the game independently, as it has accumulated a lot of experience in this business over the past few years.
In terms of financial performance, the revenue from the MMORPG Black Desert has slightly decreased. However, the MMORPG EVE Online has shown good growth in profits due to the release of the Equinox update. In total, the company’s net profit for the second quarter was 6.6 million dollars (9.1 billion won).
