The survival title “Scum” has been in early access on the PC since summer 2018. According to a rating from Taiwan, the developers are also working on a version for the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S.
The complex and strategic survival title “Scum” has now been in Early Access on the PC for more than six years. During this period, “Scum” has been supported more or less regularly with updates and new content.
According to current reports, the developers are currently not only continuing to work on content and improvements for the PC version. In addition, “Scum” could sooner or later find its way onto consoles. This is indicated by a corresponding rating from Taiwan.
The rating board gave the release date for adaptations of “Scum” for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Struggle for survival in a huge world
The developers describe “Scum” as a multiplayer survival title in an extensive open world. A 225 square kilometer game world is promised, which includes dense forests, picturesque beaches, quiet fields, abandoned cities and dilapidated airfields.
Each location tells its own story, and you can explore the game world on foot or at the wheel of vehicles and aircraft. The world’s insatiable desire for entertainment culminated in the TV series “Scum,” which is all about a merciless fight for survival.
“Both fan favorites and new prisoners will face off in a merciless battle for survival, fighting for the support of viewers, producers and corporate sponsors to win fame, gifts and a chance at life after death,” the developers describe the TV show.
“Volunteer for an event and compete against other prisoners, with glory points and valuable loot at stake for the survivors.”
Developers rely on complex mechanics
According to the developers, one of the special features of “Scum” is the fact that the survival title relies primarily on complex mechanics. “Scum uses dozens of complex systems to allow players to delve as deeply as they want into the management of their character.”
Elements that deepen the survival experience include systems that determine your character’s metabolism, inertia when moving, and even the speed at which layers of clothing dry on the body.
Although the Rating Board in Taiwan has proven to be a reliable source in the past, we must finally point out that an official announcement of the console version of “Scum” is still pending.
