Following the GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card, its main competitor from AMD, the Radeon RX 6600 series, will be “retired”. Information has come from Asian sources that the “reds” have decided to curtail production of the Radeon RX 6600, RX 6600 XT and RX 6650 XT models. All three graphics cards are based on the 7nm Navi 23 graphics processor and were released in 2021-2022.
At the same time, some other AMD RDNA 2nd generation graphics cards are still in production, in particular, the Radeon RX 6750 GRE. They are designed to complement the Radeon RX 7000 series 3D accelerator lineup and offer a fairly attractive performance-to-price ratio. Also, at least until the end of the year, AMD’s AIB partners will release the entry-level Radeon RX 6500 XT graphics card. In the future, it will likely be replaced by the Radeon RX 7400 and RX 7300.
