Hunt: Showdown 1896 introduces the Hellborn: Just in time for the Scorched Earth event, which will be released on August 15th for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, there is this brand new Wild Target!
Crytek is excited to announce its latest in-game event, Scorched Earth, along with a new Wild Target, the Hellborn. Set in the tortured peaks of the brand new Colorado map Mammon’s Gulch, players will face this game-changing new threat for the first time in ‘Hunt: Showdown 1896,’ coming August 15 to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Scorched Earth begins in the new Colorado biome, bringing with it three pacts that Hunters must commit to as they disembark the train from Louisiana into the shadow of the mighty Rocky Mountains. The Mammon’s Gulch Incursion is in full swing, and unimaginable horrors are pouring forth from the oil wells and mines that crisscross the mountaintops.
In addition to the fiery new Wild Target, the upcoming event brings new gear, ammo, and weapons, including the 1865 Carbine, the Infantry 73L Base Rifle with a sniper variant, Bear Traps as a new tool, and a scoped variant of the Crossbow Deadeye. An all-new weekly challenge system supports players jumping into the action mid-event, and there’s a Battle Pass with free and premium rewards to unlock.
A fusion of fire and flesh, the Hellborn is a source of immense heat and can be tracked down by its sounds by listening through Dark Sight.
Rising from the depths of Mammon’s Gulch, this new Wild Target can be found in many locations and stalks the lands until provoked into an explosive reaction.
The Hellborn poses an entirely new threat, moving at breakneck speed to slag off unauthorized hunters and scorch anything within its considerable range.
Be warned – a Hellborn is best taken out quickly, as its angry howl will attract the attention of other hunters in the gorge, making the threat greater by the minute.
Event Package
The Lawful Pact aims to create order and, under the command of Wyatt Preston, wants to establish the authority of the Hunters in the gorge.
The Wilderness Pact, appearing for the first time, has no faith in the law. They have left their wild and remote areas to defend the integrity of the mountain ranges and punish those who corrupt or exploit them.
Meanwhile, the Demented Pact has re-emerged under cover of darkness, their hearts twisted as they track the signs of this new corruption, seeking to feed and multiply the new wonders the Sculptor has created.
Players can join their chosen Covenants at Supply Points and receive an exclusive Trait that opens up new gameplay possibilities. Some existing Traits also receive additional conditional Trait effects for Hunters who join a specific Covenant.
The characteristics of the Wilderness Pact
Surefoot (New) – Sprint with prepared throwables or when using a first aid kit
Beastface (Conditional Trait Effect) – Avoids alerting animals or breaking branches
Frontiersman (Conditional Attribute Effect) – receives an additional Pledge Mark for the first 30 Event Points collected per mission
The characteristics of the Lawful Pact
Peacekeeper – restores an empty health chunk after looting a dead hunter
Packmule (Conditional Trait Effect) – finds additional ammo when looting dead hunters
Vigilant (Conditional Trait Effect) – doubles the range of Dark Sight
The characteristics of the Demented Pact
Berserker – increases melee damage
Adrenaline (Conditional Trait Effect) – 25% speed boost for 20 seconds at critical health
Ghoul (Conditional Attribute Effect) – Restores health when a Boss Target or Wild Target is damaged
Hunters will also be able to earn Pledge Marks and receive additional blessings and rewards, carrying up to 4 Pledge Marks at a time.
