Nexon has released its Q2 financial report for the current year. And it was a record-breaking one for the company. The launch and successful development of the MMORPG Dungeon & Fighter Mobile in China was the main reason for this success. The company’s mobile game revenue increased by 125% compared to the previous year, and net income grew by 63% to reach $275 million. Total sales of all the company’s games exceeded $785 million, an increase of 30%.
The company also announced a change in its business strategy. Nexon will now aim to expand the company’s existing franchises by releasing them on new platforms and regions. The success of Dungeon & Fighter Mobile in China clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of this strategy.
The second direction will be the creation of completely new franchises and their promotion to flagships. The company sees such potential in The First Descendant, THE FINALS and ARC Raiders. The company has eight games in its release plans, including The First Berserker: Khazan, Vindictus: Defying Fate, MapleStory N, Supervive and Nakwon: Last Paradise.
