During the D23 event, Disney and its subsidiary studios made many big announcements and also showed the first trailers for upcoming projects.
“Mufasa: The Lion King”
Mufasa: The Lion King follows the rise of the pride’s beloved king. Rafiki passes on the legend of Mufasa to the young lioness Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, while Timon and Pumbaa perform their trademark jokes.
The story, told in flashbacks, introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a compassionate lion named Taka, heir to a royal line. The chance encounter begins an epic journey for an unlikely group of misfits in search of their destiny. Their bonds will be tested as they work together to escape a deadly enemy.
“Snow White”
Disney’s Snow White is a musical reimagining of the classic 1937 animated film. The magical musical adventure returns to the timeless story with beloved characters Shy, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepyhead and Sneezy. Directed by Marc Webb, the film features all-new original songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
