Kominfo closely monitors PJP
Some time ago, Kominfo was indeed said to be blocking naughty Payment Service Providers in order to suppress the high number of online gambling in the country. They reasoned that in addition to blocking the two countries indicated as gambling dens, their party must actively monitor payment services in the country.
Based on the latest information from the Kominfo website, the Ministry of Communication and Information will punish naughty PJPs who are caught facilitating online gambling transactions, with a takedown sanction, aka revocation of the PJP’s Electronic System Organizer (PSE) mark.
Eradication of illegal activities in the country
“On Friday (09/08/2024), the Ministry of Communication and Information sent a warning letter to PJPs to ensure that their services do not facilitate online gambling transactions,” said Kemenkominfo Budi Arie Setiadi at his office.
Several days after the discourse, it was discovered that currently Kominfo has succeeded in detecting at least 21 PJPs, with around 42 Electronic Systems that are indicated to facilitate online gambling practices.
Calling for PJP to obey
Furthermore, Kominfo appealed to PJPs to conduct comprehensive and thorough audits of Electronic System services to ensure that their services are not used for illegal activities.
“If within 7 days the Ministry of Communication and Information has not received the results of the examination in question, then the PJP will be subject to administrative sanctions based on statutory regulations,” he concluded.
