The first laptops are already being delivered to customers, and detailed reviews are appearing online. The AMD APU Gaming channel has posted many videos demonstrating the capabilities of the integrated graphics of the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor in various games. In particular, the author compared the integrated graphics of the AMD Radeon 890M with the discrete video card Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650.
The comparison includes 10 games, from the old Resident Evil 6 to last year’s Robocop Rogue City and the recent multiplayer hit The First Descendant. All games were tested in Full HD with medium or high graphics settings. The tests were conducted on an ASUS VivoBook 16 laptop with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and 32 GB of LPDDR5X-7500 memory. The system for the GeForce GTX 1650 is built on an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor in combination with 32 GB of DDR4-4000 memory.
In most games, the integrated graphics demonstrate results at the level of the competitor or higher. The most significant advantage is in Robocop Rogue City, but the overall frame rate is also quite low. The Radeon 890M also shows a good advantage in Cyberpunk 2077. In older games (Resident Evil 6 and Tomb Raider 2013), the GeForce GTX 1650 is faster.
It is worth noting that we are talking about a new platform and an updated RDNA 3.5 architecture, which can be optimized and accelerated a little more with new drivers. But overall, the situation is very positive for integrated graphics.
